New Design Rex Series 6000 Shurlok tapered adapter mount spherical roller bearing units provide versatile arrangements for supporting shafts that carry substantial radial or a combination of radial and thrust loads. The Series 6000 Shurlok tapered adapter incorparates an integral locknut, sleeve and inner race along with Optical Strain Sensing(OSS) technology and a Positive Locking System(PLS) that visually indicates when the bearing is tightened to the shaft correctly. These features not only yield the most secure shaft mounting, running accuracy and ability to accomadate undersize shafting, but guarantee the correct installation every time and make removal a snap. The new bearing design offers higher dynamic load ratings than the previous design, runs cooler and runs quieter yielding a bearing that lasts longer in the application. Dynamic and static misalignement capability has been increased to ±2.0°. The rollers are aligned by the retainers and the inner race, so despite misalignment, the roller load is always equally distributed across the surface. This distribution of load, prevents high edge load stresses on the rollers and therefore it is not necessary to derate the bearing for misalignment conditions within the ±2.0°. This series of bearing is easy to mount and dismount, sealed, prelubricated and does not require adjustment during mounting.
