Composite floating shaft couplings are used in applications that require long separation between the driving and driven equipment, and where moisture, thermal expansion-contraction, and corrosive conditions would adversely affect the machinery. Such coupling arrangements are particularly suited to transmit power, accommodate misalignment, and span long distances without the use of intermediate steady bearings.
